And the 2 week wait begins!

Our Egg transfer was this morning and it was a breeze! I took a pain pill and a Xanax to calm me down a bit. I didn't sleep at all last night because I kept wondering if our 3 little embies would still be there in the morning.. and guess what.. THEY WERE!! They are beautiful and we got to see them put back into a safe spot in my uterus. WOW! Now, this infertility thing may be stressful, but who can say they saw their children when they were only a 3 day old embryo? Amazing stuff.

I was the only transfer this morning, so the embryologist came in and talked to us a ton. He said I'm classic PCOS and went into depth of what he did. It was very interesting. He told me in his 6 years there he has never had anyone under 25 not have IVF#1 work. Age is definitely on my side. Also, I am on immunosuppressive drugs for my Crohn's and he said that was also in my favor because my body is less likely to reject anything.

They transferred 2 6-cells and 1 4-cell. Basically, today, the eggs should all be 6-cells and the 4-cell is running a bit behind. He didn't seem concerned about the 4-cell because my eggs were so immature that they had to mature them in the lab so the one 4-cell didn't get ICSI'd until about 7pm on Wednesday, and my transfer was at 7:30 am this morning (so not a full 3 days). Again, for what he had to work with, he was pleased. Like he said, he can put the crappiest eggs back in a 25 year old and they take.. and the best eggs in a 35 yo and they don't take. He said that RE (especially mine) get so angry with docs who continue to tell women they have time to get pregnant. It's really not true. Age is a HUGE factor in infertility. That was comforting, because now Charley & I KNOW we need to have our children soon based on our problems.

Another funny story! My embryologist told us how they do ICSI. He was great. He said they have to slow them down so they put them in a liquid that slows the sperm down, but even then they are constantly moving. So, they have to take this speculum type tube and knock the sperm on the head to knock them out and stop them from moving long enough to grab them and pick them up and insert them into an egg. LOL. I thought that was hilarious. So, that whole "male" thing starts with just their sperm..hehe.. no wonder they drive us up the wall!!!!

I'm on "couch potato rest" and in an AWESOME mood right now. I don't have any to freeze, but I have 3 decent embies inside of me keeping warm! It's all in God's hands now!

MY Beta is Dec. 18th! Just 16 days away.. can't wait! That's just 1 week before Christmas. This would be an amazing gift!!!

Here is a picture of our 3 little embryos (just because there is 3, doesn't mean they all will stick!) Although, we wouldn't mind if 1, 2, or 3 decided to stay around!
