Our Egg Retrieval (#2!)

Our ER went GREAT!  So much stress has been relieved at this point.  Obviously, we must wait for the fertilization report tomorrow, but again, everything is going as expected.  The change in protocol worked beautifully.

They retrieved 23 eggs (versus 9 last time) and they had 14 mature eggs (versus 1 last time)...so it was an EXCELLENT DAY!  I remember most of the ER.  Painful, but tolerable.  I like being awake during that just enough to know what's going on.  Charley, myself, and my mom had the entire staff just rolling.  Seriously, the doctor had to stop about 10 times during retrieving eggs just to laugh because we had everyone chuckling.  I was awake enough to get a few smirk comments in (Not that I remember them!)!   Then, when it was done..they gave me a sprite and some teddy grahams and then I took a 2 hour nap and then I was released.  I'm home now, but in pain..as usual.  I've been really nauseated this time, but they say that is because of my higher estrogen.  Nothing major, but my stomach is constantly queasy.

Overall, I'm relaxed and happy.  It worked out great.  I was worried sick until they did that ultrasound initially and then when they showed me those follicles nice and big on the screen...I just became really relaxed.  They then started my IV..and that's when we all just got wound up tight!  The nurses think we're nuts..but oh well!

Also, Looks like we might get our 5 day transfer we were hoping for, but we'll find that all out tomorrow.

Now, we sit and pray for good fertilized embryos!  They will ICSI (sperm injection) all the eggs because of what happened last time.  But, some humor.. we had 23 eggs on the 23rd of January.  So glad to hear 14 were mature...

Thanks for the prayers everyone!  Maybe this time is the CHARM!

Hi Kaycie, so glad to hear your cycle is going so well. Hopefully this will work this time! You must be so excited.

I'm having FF troubles at the moment - there is a post at my blog with over 30 comments so you'll be able to see why - it's the same post you commented on a few days ago. I don't want to post in the Kaycie Jenesia Anne Jo Cathi group because the FF people might follow me and notice your link to your website and block you as well. But I am thinking of you and all the gals, so if you could say "Cathi says hi" that would be great
