Just a quick update for now...
Things have been a little busy with me, so this is just a quick update on Addy for the moment. My Crohn's isn't fairing too well, so I've been doing a lot of sleeping because of some pain meds and such between trips to the NICU. It's been nice to rest, but things are a little busy because there are some things I MUST get done in the next couple days! (So, hopefully Reagan's autopsy reports will follow soon!)
Okay, anyway, some big news for Addy yesterday and today.
Last night, we hit BIRTH WEIGHT last night (3lb 0.4oz)!!! We didn't bathe last night as her delicate little skin didn't need it. Her hair is so black and thick that I hate seeing her go more than a 2 days without a good head washing. Her incubator is basically a little humdifier, so you can sort of feel the grime build up in her hair. It's gorgeous, so if it requires cleaning everyday because it easily gets greasy like daddy's, no big deal!
I'll take that trade off in order to put her in just about any outfit and any headband or bow!
And, also, her oxygen reader usually wraps around her feet and ironically, it makes her feet stink really bad. So, again, hoping we can sneak a bath into tonight.
She was at 24ccs when we left her last night, so they anticipated her IV coming out soon. Also, they dressed her up again in a onsie, pants, and a sweater and a blanket and hat. She is just SO long that even though her clothes swallow her width wise, length wise she feels things in. Her nurse jokes that she's a size 12 narrow in her feet! They are so long, but SO skinny. Hopefully, when she moves up in a few weeks, I might bring a couple outfits in for her to wear. You have to be careful what you bring in for her because she has wires on. I got to hold her while she got her tube feed again last night. I just LOVE this time! You don't have much bonding time in the NICU, so I cherish this greatly... Charley isn't too comfortable holding her yet, but you can just see how much love he has for his baby girl. We're in trouble!
My Aunt Sandy, godmother (she threw my baby shower), came and got me and we went to visit Addy while Charley was at work. Aunt Sandy was just tickled to see her move so much and see how really tiny she is. People can't believe it, but Addy really is the same size as Reagan was. She's just like a little baby doll, so small. So, the first thing I did today was look for an IV....and IT'S GONE!!!!!! And, on top of that, her umbilical stump has officially fallen off! YAHOO! She looks like a who knew woman!
Here's a few pictures for now. Again, hope to post more later on Addy and also on Reagan's reports.
GIVE ME MY MOMMY!!! NOW!!
Mean nurses..I tell ya!
It's SO good to hear her cry, so, go ahead NICU nurses, make her a little mad!
She needs to work those lungs just a little.

We did it!!!

How do I look in my outfit Daddy? The little glow in her sock is her oxygen reader.

This was today, Wednesday... Her nurse, Kathy, tried to wake her up a little and move her around to help her oxygen and to get her eyes to open. She wanted none of it!
So, Aunt Sandy and I just visited her while she slept and she was quite busy while she was sleeping.

My diaper change and OOHHH!! Look..my umbilical stump is GONE! Getting so big already...13 days old! Mommy thinks I'm going to be an innie!
