Addy's Semi-Sick!
We had a longggggggg night last night. She wouldn't sleep longer then 10-15
minutes because she is so congested. Charley finally went downstairs with
her after I about lost it at 2am with no sleep and a screaming baby. He
held her all night as he dozed in and out. I went down at 6am and she
was finally asleep. I went to move her into her bouncer so he could go
back to bed before he went to work at 3pm and she woke back up. He got
her back down and she slept in her bouncer for about an hour before I
had to get her up to go to work.
I took her to the doc and there's no infection yet. I'm sucking green stuff out of her nose, so that's the concern. She said she doesn't have one yet, but she will. So, as preventative and since she was around 2 other people that have already been sick (Tera and Clayton - Although we don't share anything of theirs and they are primarily always in separate rooms - germs just can pass easily - We use a lot of Clorox anywhere and hand sanitizer, but it still made it's way to Addy), she wanted to take an extra precaution although she doesn't like putting babies on antibiotics unless there is a real infection. So, she put her on Amoxicillin for 10 days (3/day), Pedicare for 10 days or until congestion clears (4/day), Tylenol (as needed - tho she has no fever, she just feels warmer to me AND she just had her Synagis shot), and then her iron and caffeine continue..
SOOO....we got home and she pooped up the FRONT of her diaper. I have no idea how she becomes so creative sometimes!
It is definitely *poop on mommy* week as I've gotten all the explosive
ones and she doesn't poop near as much on/for daddy! LOL! I get peed on
too...oh well!
She's now eating about 15 ounces, so thank goodness for the extra calorie formula. She makes up about 1-2 ounces by having those extra calories! She should be closer to 22-25 ounces a day, but we can only get her up to around 18-20 ounces per day. She has started spitting up more and more, so we keep dropping her feeds back down to keep her from developing reflux.
She's started to slow her weight gain too, which is quite normal, but it's still so funny that at 4 1/2 months she can STILL fit in size Newborn! I find that Gymboree is pretty true to size and she can wear the 0-3s well in them now. But, she's now 10lb 3oz and 22in. In 5.8 more ounces, she'll be double the size she was when we left the hospital!
She's finally sound asleep on me. So, going to attempt to lay her down...
Gotta run for now.. I have some things to do and need to get rest myself

Kaycie- Keeping you all in my thoughts. Those first few colds and whatnot can be rough on everyone. Hang in there- and hey, Charley may soon get his share- those antibiotics can make the poop stuff more frequent and more explosive- at least it is amox. which is not as bad as some of the others out there. Take Care- sending you all healing thoughts and hopes that everyone gets some sleep as the little one starts to feel better soon
