6 MONTHS OLD - Where has time gone?

On Saturday!  Can you believe it?  I sure can't!!

6 month check-up
Weight: 12lb 6oz - 2.08% on the ACTUAL growth charts, Approx 25% on the Preemie Charts
Height: 24in - 5% on the ACTUAL growth charts, Approx 45% on the Preemie Charts
Head Circumference - 15.5in

We got cleared to start solids! YEAH! Right now, we're going to take it easy. Apple juice and rice cereal. She isn't the best eater as it is, so slow and steady is the key. She takes between 20-24oz of formula and the doc thinks adding these 2 things to the mix will help her put on a tad bit more weight. She's gained 3lbs in 2 months, so the doc is pleased.

She's really starting to play more and more. And LOVES to stand up. We went ahead and got the referral for the Early Intervention program in our area. We're just going to have her come and assess Addy and see if she's doing okay. If she needs therapy, then great, if she doesn't, then great! We're not concerned, I just told the doc I really just want to keep an eye on it so she doesn't have major trouble down the line. I'm really actually shocked at how far she has come. Developmentally, she seems to be catching up quite a bit.

They took her off her caffeine yesterday too! (The medicine that helps with her apnea) YAHOO! We have about 30-60 days left on the monitor and now it's just to make sure she really DID outgrow her caffeine dose. We will reassess the monitor and/or caffeine situation in the next 30 days and go from there.  We're still on Iron twice a day (I try 2/day..she always gets at least 1!) until we get her blood levels redrawn. If they check out fine, the doc will wean her off her iron. YEAH!

Oh, and we're teething! We go through 5-8 bibs a day.. AT LEAST! It's crazy. I remember after the baby shower I had nearly 40+ bibs and I thought.. oh my.. I'll NEVER use these... sure enough.. I think I need more!! We're quite busy during the week (and weekends) right now with all our youth bowling events, so laundry is pretty much a one day chore where Charley attends to kitchen duties and Addy and I attend to cleaning and straightening her room and our room, and paying bills and whatnots.  So.. that said.. I have maybe a 5 day supply of bibs and it's NOT enough LOL!!

We've been struggling with getting her to sleep on her own. But, I've noticed she sleeps better in a crib swaddled then she does in the pack n play that is in our room next to our bed. I'm not sure why. She takes naps in a port-a-crib at work and does great (even unswaddled). So, last night, I cleared out her crib, got her a bath, new PJs, and swaddled her up.  Held her for just a few minutes until she started to drift off to sleep, put her in her crib and hooked up all her monitors and left the door slightly open...

AND....

SHE SLEPT IN HER OWN CRIB IN HER OWN ROOM!!!  From 8:30pm until 5am, she slept SOUNDLY.  I think I checked on her at LEAST 10 times.  I'd wake up in the middle of the night and RUN to make sure everything was working.  We had a monitor in our room, but as you know..it wasn't enough!  I think I had a few anxiety attacks last night!

That's all for now, but wanted to post a few photos and videos too!  ENJOY!

On Dec 26th, we stopped and visited our RE (Reproductive Endocrinologist), aka Fertility doctor, Dr. Gentry.  He's a phenomenal man!  I still just LOVE HIM! He too thinks Reagan's anomaly was a *fluke* as well and we sort of cornered him on the question of... "When do you think we should do this again?"  And, he basically asked how far apart we wanted our kids and that was the answer!  So, more to come on that issue, but it's purely medically related at this point.  It was so good to see him.  He pulled my chart immediately and we reviewed a few things.  We just went to show him Addy and we got 5-star treatment!  Gotta love him!  Dr. Vincent, the Neonatologist that delivered our girls even was kind enough to have Reagan's autopsy reports sent to Gentry.  Not sure if that was a way of getting Gentry to slow his tracks as far as when we have more children or not or if he was just passing the info along..who knows.. we'll probably never know!  (By the way, I have my glasses on because I had an eye infection when we went there..)

She LOVES to suck her thumb.  She has recently stopped doing it so much, but for a good 6 weeks, we couldn't fight her.  She HATED the pacifier and LOVED her thumb.  Now, she doesn't care, but we'll see.. I'm sure she'll find it again!

Well, a rare moment, Trenton, her cousin feeds her a bottle!  He was so proud of himself.  Addy could of cared less.. she was just HUNGRY. And, when she's hungry, she goes from 0 to 100 in about 5 seconds..  I need to invent a bottle warmer that will warm a bottle that quick!  (She takes it room temperature, but nothing less!)

ANd, he burps her.  Amazingly enough, he did it.... she's either VERY stubborn or VERY easy to burp!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!  Gotta love that for a start for the New Year.  Daddy thought he'd be cute and stuck 2 carebear stickers on her belly while Mommy was putting her clothes away.  Sly... too bad bathtime was the next thing in line!

Well, Mommy found a SUPER deal on a travel/compact stroller for parks and such.  We're planning a family vacation in the fall sometime and I've been looking for a stroller similar to this, but got this one at a MUCH better deal!  So, sold..and she likes it..although the pictures seems to deem otherwise!

Look at them chubby cheekers!

Please, I need my beauty sleep...

SO, on Wednesday.. one second I was on my keyboard typing and she was playing away in the MIDDLE of her crib.. the next second I turned around and saw this.........

Yes, one leg, and then the other.. not sure what type of exercise routine you call this, but she was perfectly content...

So, I have MUCH video to show you,but I'm having a difficult time uploading them.  For now, here's 2 quick ones!  Hopefully, more to come!

Here is one from December when she had pneumonia.  Charley thought I was nuts, but I videoed her getting a nebulizer treatment.  I look back on this video and realize what a sick little girl she was.  She SO did not feel well!!!

Addy plays with her playmat!  She's learning to grab toys!! (January 15th)
