Oh, forgot - An update on my Crohn's..

Well, the biopsies came back from my colonoscopy 2 weeks ago..
"Biopsies show active Ulcerative Colitis."
They go back and forth between Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's. One time it's this, one time it's that. Either way, treatments are the same. The only differences are symptoms and surgeries. Certain surgeries aren't allowed on Crohn's patients, but that is something I hope I NEVER have to deal with!!
That aside, I'm pretty frustrated. I have to call and schedule a follow-up. I think we might be taking a trip to Chicago to talk to Dr. Stephen Hanauer about other methods of treatment until I'm out of my child-bearing years. Dr. Hanauer is basically the know-all for IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease - AKA Crohn's or Ulcerative Colitis).
Just thought I'd let everyone know this tid bit.. I just feel so defeated again! By all technicalities, I'm not longer in remission....

Kaycie- I am so sorry! I know that is not the news that you wanted that you wanted to get- but I think deep down you were kind of expecting to hear something was up due to your recent pain and the pain you experienced during the procedure. It is rough having a chronic disease- my migraines have me kind of in the same place that you are- I am feeling defeated and frustrated too- so I know where you are coming from- it sucks and really isn't fair- you would think with all of the so called technology and new treatments available they would be able to find something to fix us. I hope that you are able to get some answers in Chicago-I wish you the best of luck!
