What??!?! Double Ear infection?!?!?
Well, on Sunday, we experienced vomiting and diarrhea. We rode it out with pedialyte and easy foods. We got through it sometimes Wednesday evening and then Charley got the bug. Well, we thought Wednesday that things were getting better... Our ENTIRE family has been passing this virus around. I think I'm the only one lucky enough to avoid it, but in all honesty, I'm not sure (with my Crohn's) that I'd even know if I had it if I did indeed have it!
But, anyway, here's our last 2 evenings in a nutshell..
Wednesday evening
10:30pm - fussy, had to hold to keep asleep
12am-2am - screaming, yes, full-fledged screaming
2am - finally get calmed down with some pedialyte
5am-8am - more screaming, more full-fledged screaming
8am-9:30am - Addy & mommy both fell asleep
fussy the rest of the day
acted normal that evening and played well and went to bed on time at 8pm!
Thursday evening
3am - starts to stir in crib
3:30am - we get up and get her
4am - back to sleep with us for the moment
4:15am - starts coughing hard and trying to sleep
4:45am - throws up about 4-8oz of phlegm and milk down daddy's arm and all over her and our bed.
5am - Addy gets a bath and daddy gets a bath
5:15am - Addy gets a breathing treatment
5:30am - Addy takes about 3oz of pedialyte
6:15am - Finally falls back to sleep upright
6:20am - momma falls asleep too
7:35am - Addy & momma wake up and Addy drinks 5oz more of pedialyte
8:00am - FINALLY get in the shower - Addy plays on bed with daddy
8:10am - Move Addy to floor to play while I get ready and daddy can get some sleep - Addy pooped down her leg
8:15am - bath #2
8:25am - fight daddy with getting clothes on
8:30am - Mommy finally out the door with Addy
8:40am - Mommy finally at work!
And, now, after a 3:15pm appt....they found a bunch of wax in her ears and just 2 weeks ago there was NO wax in the ears...the doctor said they looked GREAT and that her ears looked fab. So, now we're on augmentin. She is now 16lb 1oz and I believe still 27in long. She hasn't gained much at all in the last month, but she's been SOO sick this week!
AHHHH I WANT SLEEP!!!!!
She simply cannot sleep laying down...constantly coughing and I'm trying to keep her asleep...
Here's hoping tonight is a little less eventful!
On a side note, here's a bit of a vent:
I got quite the rude comment at the pharmacy waiting for meds. As many of you know, I dress Addy up nearly everyday. She keeps the headbands in her hair, she likes wearing sunglasses because she doesn't like the sunlight in her eyes, and her clothes are comfy and cute (thanks to grandma!). Anyway, a lady sat right next to us - granted there were 5 chairs to my right. She looks at Addy and goes Well, look at that hairbow. It's as big as your head. You are so cute. I tell her thank you and smile. Then she looks at me and goes You know you are raising a monster. WHAT?!?!? Just because she looks CUTE she is going to be a monster? Are you serious? My response? Oh, I think it's about discipline, something many parents are lacking these days. She just smiles and walks off...
I never realized just how ignorant some people can be. I definitely try and watch what I say to a mother when I'm out and about. I have a TON more respect for things said to them. As if, as a mother, we aren't already self-conscious enough about HOW we raise our children these days!

Bummer! That is no fun at all! I hope everyone is feeling better especially the littlest one!
I can't believe that lady's comment- so Addy is dressed cute all the time- big deal, how is that going to make her a monster?! It all has to deal with how she is raised by you and Charley not by what she is dressed in- my goodness, some people just need to learn when to keep their horrible thoughts to themselves- bitch about it later when you have your coffee later at bingo lady- but WHATEVER! Sorry you had to listen to that, especially when you were already exhausted from taking care a sick child- hopefully your weekend is going better- take care and hang in there- sending you lots of love and healing thoughts!
