Blessed.....Blessed to know you!

Wow!  Blessed is the word of the day.  Blessed to know so many who care.  Care about Addy. Care about us. Care about our angel Reagan.

I have told other mothers who have walked the journey I have that "This is the most difficult journey I have ever walked, but it is by far the most blessed."  And, it is.  This journey of losing a child is so very blessed.

You might all think I'm nuts for saying that, but it's true.  I have really difficult days sometimes, but I've always tried to find the positive in a situation and I think the older I get, the more I don't sweat the small stuff.

So, how are we blessed? And, what brought on this post?

Well, we are blessed to have so many wonderful blog readers to follow our journey.  We are so blessed to have so many prayers.  We are so blessed to have supporters.  We are blessed to conceive via IVF.   We are blessed to have my Crohn's being controlled by fabulous doctors.  We are blessed to have a surviving twin daughter that brings so much joy into our souls with her beautiful smile (which she just gave me from her spot on the floor amongst her toys).  We are blessed in more ways then one.  Blessed to have Addy and blessed to have Reagan.  Blessed to be parents.  Blessed....blessed...blessed.

So, what brought on this post?

Well, a little package.  A package from someone I've never met, but I feel like I know.  Her name is Angie.  She too is the mother of twin girls, one of which is Addison!   (Great minds think alike, eh?).  She's a professional photographer with a huge heart.  She had a difficult pregnancy as well, but her girls were safely delivered a few weeks after our girls were born.  We were due in the same month.  She followed our story from day one and prayed...  Of course, I prayed for her girls too!   Click here to visit Angie's Photography site.

Anyway, a few months ago, I emailed her.  I wanted her opinion on helping with Reagan's photos.  We have an awesome photographer that I am forever grateful for and will be setting up Addy's 1 year photos with soon!   But, I knew Angie worked with an organization called NILMDTS (Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep) that does photography of infants that art stillborn, neonatal loss, or terminally ill.  I knew she would personally know how to help me, and she did.  I told her I'd pay for anything.  I wanted some touch-ups and I just wasn't sure what I needed or wanted...just that I needed to preserve those memories now.  I wanted her opinion.

What arrived in the mail is nothing short of amazing.  A big box was in the kitchen when I got home.  I looked at it and thought, "What did I order from ebay now?"  I seriously couldn't remember!  Well, I sat all my things down and looked on the box and saw Angie's name.  A smile came across my face like a kid in a candy shop.  I ran to the living room and sat down with Addy to open the package.  I opened it up and was a note from Angie.  It was an early birthday gift for Addy and a gift for Reagan too.  WOW!  How sweet?  BOTH my girls got gifts!  It was extremely thoughtful!

Addy, got the cutest little doggy blanket that is a lovey.  She was far more fascinated with the tag on it though! Go figure!

And, below that, Reagan's gift.  Oh my..What a blessing.  I opened it up.  Angie had retouched all of the photos from between personal photos, NICU, Charley's Aunt Stasia, and Stephen McDonald's professional photos and put them into an album just for us.  It was AMAZING!!  I'll share of it what I can in the coming weeks, but if you'll be at the family reunion on Saturday I'll have it with me and if you'll be at Addy's birthday party, I'll have it with me then too!  I would love to share.  It's one of the most beautiful gifts we have received!

Anyway, here are a few photos...
